Problems:

  • You’re working on a Group Project and you don’t have a lot of time to meet or you’re unable to meet
  • You’d like to store all your research and notes in one place or at least have a system worked out so everyone in the group knows what everyone else in the group knows (and can contribute)

Answer:

There are several powerful tools in the Web2.0 toolkit to help collect and organize information:

  • RSS Feed Aggregators
  • Wikis and Collaborative Document Creators
  • Social Bookmarking/Tagging
  • Private Social Networks/Groups

These can make the collection and organization of information more dynamic, more straightforward, and more efficient for individuals and groups

Project:

Rather than talk to you about several tools that I think will be helpful to you, I'd rather you USE those tools so you can decide for yourself (besides, if you can discuss the Business Applications of these tools you'll be more hireable)

So...I'm about to break you into 8 groups of 5 or so...each group will have two laptops to work with. You'll have 50-60 minutes to complete 4 projects...at the end we'll have a quick wrap-up. Also, the group that does the best work on their project will get a prize next week (at the end of class I'll change the wiki password so you'll be done working)

Proceed
